CPL Aromas chose to acquire the Brazilian business of Chemarome based on the population’s appetite for beauty and fragrance

Luxury fragrance house CPL Aromas has entered the Brazilian market after acquiring Chemarome Brasil, a subsidiary of perfume composition manufacturer Chemarome.

The acquisition includes Chemarome Brasil’s factory and offices near the city of Curitiba, located in the south of the country, where it will operate as CPL Aromas do Brasil.

The family-owned business, which claims to be one of largest fragrance-only fragrance houses, said it chose Brazil based on the population's appetite for beauty products.

“Brazil’s 200 million consumers are notorious for their love of fragranced products,” said Nick Pickthall, Chief Operating Officer of CPL Aromas.

“Having a local team and operation will be key to our success in this market.”

The acquisition of Chemarome Brasil means the perfume manufacturer now has 19 offices, six manufacturing plants and a team of more than 700 employees worldwide.

“We are very happy to welcome the Chemarome Brasil team into the CPL Aromas family,” Pickthall added.

“We look forward to working with them in the coming years, learning as we grow together.”

CPL Aromas was founded in the UK in 1971 by brothers Michael and Terry Pickthall.

The company celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2021.
