Estee Lauder-backed professional make-up brand MAC is extending the remit of the BB cream phemonena.

To be sold exclusively in Asia travel retail outlets from January, Prep + Prime BB Beauty Balm Compact SPF 30/PA++ delivers SPF protection in a solid cream, packaged in a mirrored compact. It comes in three semi-translucent shades which are said to even skin tone, blur imperfections and enhance luminosity. Shades include Extra Light Pale (alabaster), Light Pale (ivory) and Light Plus Light (beige).

The proposition is also available in a cream formulation (Prep + Prime BB Beauty Balm SPF 35/PA+++ ), again in three semi-translucent shades. This formulation is better suited to covering extra-light to medium skin tones and blends SPF protection, creamy emollients and optical pearl pigments.
