Pauline Brown has resigned as LVMH’s Chairman for North America. She will leave to role “pursue other opportunities” at the end of this year.
Brown joined LVMH in 2012, having previously worked with Estée Lauder and Carlyle Private Equity. LVMH said that Brown would stay on to ensure that her successor, Anish Melwani, transitions smoothly into the role.
Toni Belloni, Managing Director at LVMH, said: “We are grateful to Pauline for her contributions to the Group over the last three years. Under her watch, our business in the region has continued to develop and our organisation as well. She has been a precious coach to our local teams. We wish her the best in her future ventures.”
Melwani has previously worked for consultancy firm McKinsey & Company, leading global strategy and corporate finance practice. He will now be tasked with supporting LVMH clients.
Bernard Arnault, Chairman and CEO of LVMH, commented: “I am delighted to welcome Anish into our Group. North America is a strategic market for LVMH, with our brands witnessing strong performances. Anish will help us further accelerate growth and explore new development opportunities.”
Arnault added: “Anish will work alongside the global leaders of our businesses leveraging his strategic skills and sharing his deep knowledge of the market.”
LVMH announced that it was putting a renewed focus on the North American market, perhaps in response to an economic slowdown in China. The company also said that it would be looking to innovate its digital presence in the coming months.
This latest hire comes shortly after LVMH appointed ex-Apple executive Ian Rogers as its new Chief Digital Officer.
