Hanni is the latest beauty brand to receive investment from L’Oréal’s strategic venture capital fund, BOLD (Business Opportunities for L’Oréal Development).
The premium ‘clean’ body care brand was confirmed to have joined Bold’s portfolio via a LinkedIn post by the fund on 17 April.
Hanni was founded in 2021 by former beauty executive Leslie Tessler, with a mission to make body care “easy, elevated and unforgettable”.

Tessler wrote in a separate LinkedIn post on 18 April: “Surreal does not begin to describe writing this – Hanni is officially partnering with BOLD, the venture fund of L’Oréal .
“I started my career at L'Oréal many years ago, so having them now invest in Hanni feels incredibly full circle.
“Definitely one of those pinch-me moments.
“I also have to say how impressed I have been by Presca Ahn [Investment Director and Head of North America, BOLD at L’Oréal] and the entire BOLD team.
“Smart, thoughtful, decisive – they really get it.
“We have got big plans for Hanni, and I could not be more excited to do this together.”
As part of BOLD, Hanni joins the likes of Los Angeles hybrid make-up and skin care South Asian-founded Live Tinted, and performance-based hair, body and hand care brand Uni.
