The charity aims to evoke camaraderie and empathy with a military-inspired series of portraits

Look Good Feel Better, the UK support charity for women with visible side-effects of cancer treatment, has launched its #Warpaint4Life campaign.

Inspired by 1940’s wartime posters, the campaign features a series of striking portraits of women dressed in military-inspired outfits wearing make-up.

One of the women, named Polly, is pictured wearing a bullet belt of lipsticks, while another, called Lindi, is armed with make-up brushes.

Meanwhile, Pip and Kinga are adorned with eyeshadow and bronzers in the place of medals.

Talking about the photoshoot, Pip said: “It made me feel so good inside and happy – it made me sparkle and giggle, a lot!

“I’m totally overwhelmed with the final pictures and could not believe the transformation.”

Polly added: “Warpaint means facing the day without having cancer written across your forehead.”

The #Warpaint4Life campaign was first launched in 2014 and won Marketing Campaign of the Year at the Third Sector Awards.
