Japanese beauty giant Kosé Corporation has acquired Thai beauty and wellness player Pañpuri.
Established in Bangkok in 2003 by Vorravit Siripark, Pañpuri is a niche fragrance and holistic wellness brand rooted in Thai heritage.
Its line-up comprises fragrances, body care, skin care, home fragrance and spa experiences guided by the brand’s ‘Zerolist’ commitment to ‘clean’ and sustainable formulations.
As well as Thailand, Pañpuri retails in Japan, China and Europe.
The deal falls under Kosé’s mid- to long-term strategy of adding “regionally rooted brands” to its portfolio, which includes Decorté and Tarte.
“This partnership with Kosé Corporation marks a transformative milestone for Pañpuri,” commented CEO Siripark.
“This collaboration allows us to preserve our heritage while embracing a future of growth, innovation and shared passion for creating meaningful beauty experiences.”
Kosé Corporation President and CEO Kazutoshi Kobayashi added: “We believe that Pañpuri’s traditional approach from ancient times in Thailand and sophisticated product design, which creates cosmetics that feel good to use and enrich the mind on top of being effective, highly align with our constant approach since our establishment to continually pursue sensory quality while inheriting tradition and innovation.
“With this acquisition of shares, we will accelerate the global strategy set forth in our medium- to long-term vision, and aim to establish a presence in the Global South markets and further enhance our value.”
Pañpuri’s previous owners were Siripark, his family and private equity firm Lakeshore Capital.
