Hourglass Cosmetics founder Carisa Janes has acquired and relaunched cult bath, body and skin care brand Nature of Things.

Founded by Jamie Leilani Pelayo and JP Collet in 2019, Nature of Things specialises in plant-based formulations and was purchased for an undisclosed sum.

A line of new products has been developed for the relaunch, with prices starting from US$28, and will become available on 16 September via natureofthings.com.

Alongside plans to reinvigorate the business, the acquisition also builds on Janes’ significant investment history within the beauty industry.

“I have long been a strategic investor in beauty, with previous ventures including Youth to the People, Salt & Stone and Yuv Beauty,” Janes told Cosmetics Business.
