The second K-beauty craze based on the harmony of natural ingredients and cutting-edge technology

Demure core, with its understated and elegant look, has emerged as a hot keyword in fashion and beauty trends, and clean girl beauty, with its sleek hair, glowing skin, and naturally textured eyebrows, is still dominating social media feeds. Korean skin care and Glass Skin are at the center of the trend that pursues beauty that is not flashy but carefully managed. The second K-beauty craze, which is based on the harmony of natural ingredients and cutting-edge technology, is now expanding beyond Asia to the rest of the world, and #koreanskincare is becoming a category in the beauty market, not just a temporary fad.

The point of K-Beauty Glass Skin is to create a natural glow on the skin, rather than a gloss like a glazed donut skin, and this is what sets K-Beauty apart in the global market. The Korean skincare routine to get glass skin consists of double cleansing, exfoliation, toning, essence and serum, moisturizing, and UV protection. This multi-step routine removes dead skin cells, promotes cell turnover, hydrates the skin, and pursues the glow created by a smooth, flawless surface.

ACTIVON’s ingredients for Glass skin routine:

Activonol-M

Toner pads and sheet masks are essential items in Korean skincare’s daily routine. Activonol-M is a paraben-free, water-soluble, hypoallergenic antibacterial ingredient with excellent preservative effect over a wide range of temperature and pH. It can be applied as an alternative preservative for various skin and personal care products, and is especially suitable for mask sheets, toner pads, and wet wipes.

A-Silkne

A-Silkne is a 100% natural plant-derived ingredient combines in optimal proportions heptyl undecylenate extracted from castor oil and Magnolia Officinalis Bark Extract. Magnolol and honokiol, extracted from the bark of the Magnolia Officinalis, have powerful anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects. It has been confirmed to have superior antibacterial activity against acne bacteria compared to salicylic acid, and has excellent preservative power against bacteria within the oil balm formulation, so it can be used in cleansing oil, sunscreen, makeup products, and stick balm products for acne or problematic skin. In particular, it can be used in products to cover acne marks to prevent recurrence or worsening of acne.

As the clean beauty trend expands, the demand for ingredients that can replace silicone or be used as a booster is increasing. By applying A-Silkne to improve applicability, it is expected to somewhat reduce the white cast of sunscreen and improve the feeling of use. Applying A-Silkne has a similar effect on improving the feeling of use as when applying the same amount of silicone oil, and can provide a softer silky finish.

ACTIVON's ingredients, including the two products reviewed above, can be found at the stand G30 during the in-cosmetics Asia exhibition to be held at Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre from 5-7 November 2024.
