Knowing what to pack in the make-up bag is half the problem when it comes to beach beauty. Make-up artist Cassie Lomas suggests using multi-use products. “I love bronzing palettes as the different colours also work well as eyeshadows.” Advise customers to see if any of their products can be doubled up.
Looking good while travelling can be tricky, so it’s best to keep it simple. Lomas explains flying dehydrates the skin so it is better to avoid wearing too much make-up. “I only ever travel in mascara, with groomed eyebrows and a lip balm,” she says.
Hitting the beach, or pool, is another challenge for the make- up bag. Even if your customers avoid the water, the heat will make them sweat, making it difficult for make-up to stay on their face. “Suggest water-resistant products to get a lasting look in the heat,” says Lomas. She adds that waterproof mascara and a lip/cheek stain are her go-to products for the beach.
Once home, customers can make the most of their tanned skin with a simple, light BB cream. Lomas says: “A BB or CC cream in a tanned tone will make their sun-kissed skin look flawless with just a hint of colour.”
