From the dental chair to the bathroom: Oral-B launches three new smart toothbrushes

The oral care brand adds three new smart toothbrushes to its iO line

Oral care brand Oral-B has unveiled its latest smart toothbrushes  at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

The new iO10 with iOSense technology offers users live coaching directly on the iOSense Charger to guide time, pressure, and coverage in real-time.

The user brushing data also syncs to the Oral-B app for insights into brushing habits.

Meanwhile, using the same iO technology, the P&G-owned brand also showcased earlier this week, the iO4 and iO5 feature multiple brushing modes to personalise cleaning, with rainbow lights upon the completion of brushing for two minutes and refill LED reminders directly on the handles.

The iO5 can also provide users with real-time coverage tracking and coaching via the Oral-B app.

“Our mission does not end at a smart toothbrush or better brushing coach; it is about developing a larger digital health ecosystem that leads with advanced technologies, accessible solutions and more effective educational tools to improve oral care and health for all,” said Alita Vegas, P&G Global Oral Care Senior Vice President.

“With our latest announcements at CES 2022, we’re building a digital health ecosystem to take on the oral health crisis in America.”

The P&G-owned brand has also partnered with teledentistry platform Grin to allow consumers to capture high-resolution images of their mouth using their smartphone, and securely transmit dental scans for an at-home consultation.

The iO4 and iO5 (US$100) will be available across the US this year in colours including quite white, matte black, blush pink, icy blue and lavender.

A waitlist for the iO10 is open now on oralb.com with a launch date and price point yet to be confirmed.

Originally launched in 2020, Oral-B iO was the result of six years of research with dental professionals offering features such as linear magnetic drive, bi-modal smart pressure sensor, and redesigned brush head.
