Demand for aesthetic plastic surgery and treatments is skyrocketing, opening up new possibilities for pre- and post-treatment skin care solutions.
According to a 2025 global report from the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), close to 38 million aesthetic surgical and non-surgical procedures were carried out in 2024, an increase of 40% from 2020.
“Patients are increasingly considering surgical options again after many decades of facelift surgery dwindling because of non-surgical options,” comments Dr. David Jack, a specialist in aesthetic medicine and anti-ageing treatments with multiple clinics across London and in Edinburgh.
Recently, “the deep plane facelift has become the standout procedure in facial surgery, probably because both surgeons and patients now better understand why it works.”
Jack explains that many patients today are educated about specific surgical techniques, “rather than simply requesting a facelift in generic terms, the way they might have done in the past,” and credits this uptick in awareness to social media and the rise of celebrity admissions.
“Its rise reflects a definite cultural pivot away from the pulled, overtly-done look towards outcomes that are more discreet and difficult to detect,” he tells Cosmetics Business.
2026 plastic surgery trends “continue to shift towards a focus on more natural refinement rather than dramatic transformation,” according to London-based facialist and skin care entrepreneur Sarah Chapman.
