The company’s ceo, Chris Pickthall, credited the sourcing of raw materials with being the most challenging part of the process, stating: “the current globally available palette of organic raw materials is growing but is very much more restricted than a standard perfumer’s palette.”
Meanwhile, Symrise has been awarded USDA Organic Certification from the National Organic Program (NOP) in accordance with the US Department of Agriculture standards.
“US certification lets us do more than just guarantee high quality for our customers, it also allows us to take responsibility for the resources that go into our products,” commented Achim Daub, global president, Scent & Care, Symrise.
According to Symrise, production of the first three organic fragrances could begin within the month at its two certified production sites in New Jersey.
