First scent for Aubade

In October, French lingerie company Aubade will launch its first fragrance.

It has been created by perfumer Delphine Jelk of Drom, who signed Amander Persane for Roger & Gallet and Guerlain’s cash cow La Petite Robe Noire.  It has head notes of sweet almond and clove, heart notes of rose, lily of the valley, freesia, peony, heliotrope and violet, and base notes of cedar, vanilla and musk.

“I loved the idea of suggestion induced by lingerie,” she said, “so the urge for a skin scent came very naturally - an intimate and enveloping scent to wear by itself so it takes on its full dimension.”  The fragrance is priced at €49 for 50ml and €72 for 100ml and there will also be a 150ml body milk costing €24. The products will be sold in perfumeries and Aubade outlets.

The publicity campaign features a completely nude model holding the sensual and curvy bottle in the small of her back and the words: “Lesson no 145: put on perfume”, echoing Aubade’s ‘lingerie lessons’ of the past, such as “Lesson No 5: feign indifference”.  Aubade is owned by Swiss groupe Calida and the perfume has been created under the auspices of Empire of Scents, which also holds the licences for Balmain, Jean-Louis Scherrer and Montana.
