Accessories designer Rebecca Minkoff has been announced as Global Colour Designer for nail polish brand essie.
The two previously worked together at New York Fasion Week in 2012, where the brand created nail looks for Minkoff’s runway show. According to the brand, Minkoff was chosen for the role because of her fashion expertise and modern eye for colour. In her new role as Global Colour Designer, she will bring ‘a wealth of knowledge to the brand’s on-trend vision and provide her unique perspective on the brand’s colour direction for future essie collections’.
Carolyn Holba, Worldwide General Manager of essie, commented: “Women around the world have fallen in love with essie’s iconic nail colours and Rebecca’s stylish accessories. It is an incredible honor to bring together two fashion authorities to create the next generation of must-have nail collections for women around the world. Rebecca exudes passion and she lives and breathes colour – so does essie. We have so much in common and are excited to welcome her to the essie family.”
Essie’s upcoming Spring 2015 collection, named Flowerista, will be the first of many upcoming collections influenced by Minkoff. “I have always had a lifelong passion for vibrant nail colour and nail art – they are the perfect accessory and offer every woman another unique way to express herself. I am thrilled to take my relationship with essie one step further and look forward to a successful and colourful journey!” expressed Minkoff.
