Drew Barrymore is in talks with retailers outside the US about stocking her Flower Beauty range of cosmetics, The Associated Press (AP) has reported.
The 40-year-old actress, author, director and producer launched her brand, manufactured by Maesa Group, in 2014 exclusively via Walmart. It features products for face, eyes, lips and nails, as well as brushes and fragrances. Flower Beauty is also on PETA US’ list of cruelty-free cosmetics companies and a member of its Beauty Without Bunnies programme.
Now it looks as though Barrymore’s exclusivity deal with Wal-Mart Stores may be due to expire, as it was reported that she is in talks with retailers overseas to sell Flower Beauty in regions including China, South America, Australia and the UK. AP also confirmed that Barrymore is due to launch her own e-commerce business this year.
In the AP report, Barrymore was quoted as saying that Wal-Mart Stores has been a “great” partner, but “at the end of the day, it is business. It is not friendship. They will drop us like a hot potato if we are not doing well."
