Collaboration will help find new claims for anti-ageing skin care products using testing and analysis

A new monitoring unit located at the University of Cergy-Pontoise in Paris is to use the Soleil de Saclay synchrotron in a new industrial collaboration to undertake testing and analysis of the effects of new anti-ageing cosmetics. Partners in the collaboration will be Cosmetic Valley and Bio-Ec, a small company specialising in experiments on skin.

Marc-Antoine Jamet of LVMH, who is President of the Cosmetic Valley enterprise group, said the increasing complexity of new cosmetic formulae required state of the art testing facilities to guarantee manufacturing viability and performance of products designated as Made in France.

The university will provide a member of research staff and accommodation while experts at the synchrotron will provide help to improve interpretation of results. Bio-Ec is to provide a state of the art spectrometer on loan.
