Allies of Skin has voluntarily recalled all lots of The One SPF 50 Invisible Sunscreen Gel as it may not provide the stated level of SPF.
The skin care brand initiated the recall after identifying potential concern with the product’s SPF performance.
After conducting its own testing, the findings indicated that the affected product “may not reliably provide the SPF 50 protection stated on the label”, Allies of Skin said in a statement provided to Cosmetics Business.
“Use of the affected product could increase the risk of sunburn if consumers rely on the labelled SPF value for sun protection,” the statement continued.
At this time, we are only aware of one customer that was not happy with the SPF performance of The One SPF 50 Invisible Sunscreen Gel.
“After identifying the issue, Allies of Skin immediately stopped selling the product where it had direct control, reached out to its manufacturer, and conducted a review to confirm the scope of [the] affected product and where it was distributed.”
The recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the brand added.
The One SPF 50 Invisible Sunscreen Gel was sold direct to consumers, as well as at online retailers, including Amazon and TikTok Shop, and in various physical stores between April 2024 and August 2026.
Recalled batches were sold in the US and globally, according to the beauty brand’s list of affected products, lot numbers and expiry dates.
The recall affects 20ml, 50ml and 90ml sizes of the sunscreen, as well as jumbo and 3ml sachets.
Consumers have been advised to stop using the affected product and go to recallrtr.com/sunscreengel to check eligibility and register for a refund.
No other Allies of Skin products are affected.
In an FAQ about the recall for customers, Allies of Skin said that it is reformulating the product “to ensure it meets our product performance and quality expectations before it is made available again”.
