Although tinted sunscreens are nothing new in beauty, a wave of fresh launches which claim to blend the best of sun care with more specific colour correction to target redness, uneven tone and more are soaring in popularity again this year.
Driven by the ‘skinification of sun care’ trend and time-poor consumers wanting more streamlined routines, these items are claiming to blend high-performance sun care with make-up colour correction theory to minimise the appearance of redness and pigmentation, and as such are piquing consumer interest and spending.
These hybrid products are especially appealing for those with sensitive skin issues, such as rosacea, sitting comfortably in the functional beauty space – delivering instant visual results (evening of the complexion) as well as core preventative results (sun protection).
Global Google searches for ‘reduce face redness’ have soared 39% over the past year (from 4 May 2025 to 5 April 2026), while skin condition rosacea is said to affect around 415 million people worldwide, according to the National Rosacea Society.
“Daily SPF use is still inconsistent, but by incorporating tone-correcting benefits, brands are reframing sun care as part of a beauty routine rather than what used to be a health obligation,” says Laura Partington, NPD Consultant at Lucas Lochlan Consultancy.
“Colour-correcting SPFs bridge that gap by offering both with an immediate visual payoff, some even neutralising redness with green tones, which help to target skin complaints such as rosacea, while providing longer-term protection.
“While these products are a great entry point into daily SPF use, they should not always be seen as a complete substitute, particularly in high UV conditions or prolonged exposure to the sun.”

Among the products that have launched this year is Tropic Skincare’s new Calm & Correct – a four-in-one colour correcting treatment with SPF50, which harnesses neutralising green pigments and the brand’s SkinSync adaptive technology to reduce the appearance of redness and uneven tone.
The product, which launched on 9 April, has already become the brand’s second bestselling product this year.
“This [product] is interesting as it claims tone-matching technology,” says Jill Weir, a beauty NPD and Brand Consultant.
“If that works [then] it is a clever way to be much more inclusive and avoid a proliferation of skus in their range.
“It also has not compromised on protection with a SPF50 rating.”
Erborian’s updated CC Red Correct formula featuring SPF 30 – which comprises encapsulated green pigments to counteract redness and centella asiatica to support the skin barrier, paired with SPF 30 protection – is so popular that one sells every
