British Beauty Council names Bridgerton actor Golda Rosheuvel ambassador

Golda Rosheuvel, who plays Queen Charlotte in Netflix's period drama Bridgerton, has been appointed the new face of the British Beauty Council, working with the industry body to help raise awareness of the social and cultural value of UK beauty

The British Beauty Council has appointed Bridgerton star Golda Rosheuvel as its latest ambassador.

The 56-year-old British actor and singer’s appointment was unveiled by British Beauty Council CEO Millie Kendall during an event at the not-for-profit industry body's British Beauty Week 2026 activation in London, UK, on 12 October.

Rosheuvel is best known for playing character Queen Charlotte in Netflix's period drama Bridgerton, in which she has appeared in several seasons.

However, she is also a theatre veteran, having undertaken leading roles in Othello, A Christmas Carol, Electra, Carmen Jones and We Will Rock You, as well as appearing in Shakespeare classics such as The Tempest, Julius Caesar, Anthony and Cleopatra.

“As we have been investigating the impact of beauty on British society, we thought Golda, as a cultural icon, really depicted the contribution hair and beauty makes nationwide,” Kendall told Cosmetics Business.

“She is indicative of British beauty and we hope she raises visibility of how she relies on these services to do the job she does.

“She is a stunning woman, powerful, and understands how important hair and make-up are to one’s persona.

“She turns the spotlight on culture, artistry and the creativity behind the industry.

“Our ambassadors tend to work with us throughout the year, and we hope she will support our industry by amplifying the work we do and the cultural impact we make.”

Rosheuvel joins the British Beauty Council’s existing ambassador roster, which includes supermodel Kate Moss, singer Rita Ora, Trinny London founder Trinny Woodall, and Jones Road Beauty founder Bobbi Brown.

British rugby player Tatyana Heard became the council’s first-ever Sports Ambassador last year.

Kendall said it is important to keep expanding the British Beauty Council’s ambassador roster because “there are so many areas of culture that beauty touches – film, music, sport, etc”.

She added: “And it is important to engage with people from industries that align with our products and services.”

The British Beauty Council is a not-for-profit organisation that represents the beauty industry by tackling issues facing the sector.

The council’s British Beauty Week 2026 is running from 12 to 25 October, delving into the UK beauty sector's economic, social and cultural contribution.

The event’s theme is ‘The Impact of Beauty’, bringing together industry leaders, innovators, policymakers, brands and consumers.
