Trinny Woodall has revealed how she is pushing the boundaries of skin care innovation with a new serum under her Trinny London brand, which aims to help people show off their natural skin rather than mask it behind make-up.

Launching today, Naked Ambition (£69), combines a slow-release vitamin C with azelaic acid in what the brand claims is a global-first method of delivery.

Vitamin C is a commonly used ingredient that is known to help tackle skin issues such as redness and hyperpigmentation, as well as stimulate collagen production and protect against sun damage among its benefits.

However, the ingredient can be unstable, making it tricky to formulate, and the active ingredient can be harsh, especially on more sensitive skin.

Azelaic acid is also known for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antioxidant properties and is used for treating acne, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone.

Both ingredients are potentially highly irritating, and even more so when used together, meaning the two “powerhouse” ingredients are rarely combined.

However, the brand has tapped exosome technology to overcome these issues, combining slow-release vitamin C and azelaic acid in a single serum.
