The beauty company has inked a deal with software player Blue Yonder to help streamline operations

Avon International has partnered with Blue Yonder, a US software firm, to improve its supply chain with artificial intelligence (AI).

The Natura & Co-owned cosmetics company is in the process of establishing a ‘planning hub’ for centralised demand and supply planning.

As part of this, it selected Blue Yonder’s SaaS supply chain solutions, which are based on AI and machine learning (ML) capabilities.

The beauty player said it hopes its supply chain process simplification will help streamline operations, surpass forecast accuracy, grow omnichannel capabilities, and to improve service levels and optimise cash flow.

Avon International’s manufacturing supply chain operations in Europe and Asia Pacific are managed by Avon Operations Polska (AOP) and Avon Distribution Polska (ADP), with the backbone of their activities located in Garwolin, Poland.

AOP manages the largest and most technologically advanced Avon factory in the world, with cosmetics manufactured at the location distributed to around 40 countries across three continents.

COO of Avon International, Maciej Kaniowski, said the Blue Yonder deal would empower Avon International “to meet the changing needs of its customers, representatives and partners in a profitable and sustainable way”.
