The British perfume company is releasing two fragrances to celebrate its 200th anniversary

To celebrate its 200th anniversary, British perfume company Atkinson’s has launched two new fragrances: Oud Save the King and Oud Save the Queen. The fragrance duo, inspired by the romance between 1920’s dandy Crown Prince Mohammed Ali Ibrahim of Egypt and Hollywood ‘wild child’ Mabel Normand, comes in identical gold bottles with black labels and gold caps, both in 100ml edp formats. The outer card packaging is in textured gold.

Oud Save the King was composed by Firmenich perfumer Amandine Clerc-Marie. It features top notes of Earl Grey tea and bergamot, heart notes of orris root and suede accord and base notes of sandalwood and oud. The oud accord includes Cypriol, along with Atlas cedar wood, Indonesian Gurjun balm and Paraguayan guaiac wood.

Oud Save the Queen was created by Firmenich perfumer Francis Delamont and has head notes of Earl Grey tea, cloves and bergamot, heart notes of jasmine and orange blossom and base notes of oud, tonka bean and guaiac wood. The oud accord includes Firmenich proprietary molecule Norlimbanol, which has a mixed patchouli/amber scent.

Both fragrances are available from selected outlets such as Harrod’s in London. Atkinson’s has not announced pricing, but other perfumes from the company, which was relaunched in the summer, retail at around £95 for 100ml.
