Published: 16-Aug-2019

in-cosmetics Latin America - the continent’s leading event for personal care ingredients – will return to Brazil from 18-19 September with a fresh exhibitor line-up and educational programme.

Thousands of beauty and personal care professionals from across the world are set to gather in São Paulo, looking to network, learn and discover the latest industry trends and ingredients innovations.

The exhibition takes place during a period of intense development for the region, having seen exceptional growth of 36.7% from 2013 – 2018, according to market research provider Euromonitor International.

This momentum is set to continue, with the beauty and personal care industry in Latin America set to reach $72 billion by 2023.

Offering unparalleled insight into the future, in-cosmetics Latin America 2019 will provide an extensive educational programme through its Marketing Trends and Technical Seminars, as well as its Innovation Zone and more.

Free to attend, the Marketing Trends sessions will give R&D professionals and cosmetic chemists exclusive insight into the latest facts, figures, market analysis and research data that defines the industry.

Among the esteemed market leaders appearing at the event is Juliana Martins, Senior Beauty and Personal Care Analyst at Mintel, who will discuss Opportunities in natural products in Latin America.

Journalist and beauty and wellness expert, Vânia Goy, will share her knowledge of Nature + Tech - Reinventing beauty for Ecological Natives, looking at generational demands for new production methods, packs, formats, point of sale promotions and services that closely consider the health of both the consumer and the environment.

On the back of its ‘Sharing Beauty with All’ sustainability program, L'Oréal Brazil’s Fabiana Munhoz will highlight innovative products that have a significant impact on sustainability, while showcasing the company’s tools for sustainable innovation.

Visitors can also learn more about the fragrance market through specialist seminars when Sue Phillips, International Fragrance Expert and CEO of Scenterprises Inc, addresses fragrance and personalisation and the ingredients that excite today’s consumers.

This year’s educational programme also includes a strong line-up of technical seminars, hosted by professionals from raw material suppliers who will share knowledge on the science behind their ingredients. In LEAPlex Granules: Bond-building agent for damaged hair, Sigfredo Gonzalez, Global Applications Development Leader – Personal Care at Momentive Performance Materials, will demonstrate how LEAPlex granules can penetrate the hair shaft to increase wet elasticity and fortify hair pre- or post-treatment.

Oriol Vendrell of LipoTrue S.L. will also enlighten attendees on Meiview - a Mediterranean active ingredient for non-gender eye care beauty. The product is the first active in the cosmetic market that claims to cover dark circles, eye bags and wrinkles, while providing a lifting effect.

It focuses on cell-to-cell adhesion, increases collagen and improves microcirculation.

Two further technical seminars will consider the important role ageing plays in the personal care market. In New in ageing conversation: pro-ageing, lifestyle-oriented and positive offer, Anna Momméja, Beauty Care Active Ingredients Expert at SEPPIC, will offer a framework to help brands navigate evolving consumer perceptions.

While Victória Esteves of Givaudan Active Beauty LATAM will reveal the company’s new breakthrough to reverse hair greying: Darkenyl.

Also providing delegates with an additional opportunity for learning, the Technical Workshop will return across both days of the show. The initiative, from ABIHPEC (Brazilian Association of the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Industry) in partnership with in-cosmetics Latin America will have renowned specialists covering the following theme: “Cosmetics and Innovation in a digital and diversified world”.

Experts in cosmetic regulations will also gather for the free-to-attend CASIC Regulations Conference to discuss industry challenges in Latin America, such as sun care products and alternatives to animal testing.

To help visitors identify key ingredients and stay ahead of their competitors, in-cosmetics Latin America will also give visitors an opportunity to test the benefits first-hand in finished products, in the ever-popular Spotlight On area, which will focus on haircare, skincare and formulations.
