Verescence puts Chanel in the red

Published: 19-Feb-2019

French glassmaker Verescence has revealed that it is the supplier behind the red glass Chanel No 5 bottle that proved such a success over the 2018 holiday season.

The bottle, available in 100ml, was manufactured at Verescence’s site in Mers-les-Bains, France.

Melted in a glass tank, the material only reveals its distinctive red colour after a complex manufacturing process called annealing, explained Verescence.

Red glass has been made exclusively by the company for more than 30 years.
