Premium Indian beauty brand RAS Luxury Skincare has raised US$5m in a funding round led by Unilever Ventures, the FMCG giant’s investment arm.
The series A round was also supported by Amazon Smbhav Venture Fund, an India-dedicated venture fund for early stage start-ups.
The new backers join existing investor Sixth Sense Ventures and angel investors, including banker Keki Mistry’s family, who also participated in the round.
Founded by Sangeeta Jain and her daughters Shubhika and Suramya, the D2C skin care and beauty brand specialises in products infused with active botanicals.
Its ‘farm to face’ hero products include Brightening & Anti Pigmentation Advanced Booster Serum, with glutathione, alpha arbutin and kojic acid, and Super Charge Multivitamin Day Cream SPF 30.
RAS Luxury Skincare said it would use the capital injection to expand its retail footprint, focusing on exclusive brand outlets shop-in-shop retail.
The company currently operates two outlets, with 50 more planned over the next three years across India.
In an Instagram post, it further promised R&D investment and enhanced customer experiences.
“With this funding, we aim to accelerate our vision of becoming India’s top luxury skin care brand while making strides toward a global presence,” said RAS Luxury Skincare CEO Shubhika.
“We remain committed to building a sustainable, high-quality business rooted in strong fundamentals, profitability and innovation.”
RAS Luxury Skincare joins an international roster of beauty brands supported by Unilever Ventures, including Californian naturals brand Oak Essentials and British teen beauty brand Indu, which raised £4m last year.
2024 also saw the firm back Indonesian make-up brand ESQA, as well as British intimate care brand Luna Daily.
Amazon Smbhav Venture Fund, meanwhile, recently led a seed funding round for India-based 2020 start-up Fix My Curls.
