Technavio has revealed the world’s most popular perfume brand in its annual report. Coty, which has recently acquired several perfume brands from P&G, was included in the top five.
Estée Lauder also appeared in the top five. The company has announced strong results due to increasing sales in the Latin American market. Bvlgari, Chanel and Gucci finish off the top five for best-selling brands.
Overall, the global market is expected to grow at a steady rate through 2019, when it will be worth an estimated $52.2 billion dollars. This is partly due to growing demand from emerging markets, particularly in China, Japan and India.
Women’s fragrances continue to dominate the market, with a 63% share. This is expected to continue into 2019m thanks to a rising number of women in employment and the rise of gifting culture. Top selling brands for women are Chance by Chanel, Pure Poison by Dior, Chanel No. 5 by Chanel and Pure by Jil Sander.
