L'Oréal Paris has appointed South African actress Thuso Mbedu as its newest international Brand Ambassador.
Mbedu will work with the beauty goliath as a spokesperson for the Sub-Saharan Africa region.
The actress rose to prominence for her role in South African teen drama series Is'Thunzi, for which she earned an International Emmy in 2017 and 2018.
In 2022, she starred in the Hollywood blockbuster The Woman King.
“In addition to her successful international acting career, Thuso is passionate about empowering women and girls by providing them with educational resources alongside the non-profit organisation Save The Children,” said L'Oréal Paris in an Instagram post.
“Together, we look forward to inspiring and uplifting individuals of all backgrounds to embrace their beauty, celebrate diversity and foster self-confidence.”
Mbedu joins L'Oréal Paris’ line-up of brand ambassadors, including British actress and activist Gemma Chan and fashion model Alexina Graham.
The group also appointed actor and entrepreneur Anushka Sharma as its spokesperson for India in 2022.
More recently, L'Oréal appointed a collective of make-up artists to create brand content for the beauty owner.
Dubbed the L'Oréal League of Experts, the team consists of Allan Avendaño, Claudia Betancur and Erica Taylor.
They will guide L’Oréal Paris’ future marketing efforts, including brand launches, designing red carpet looks, appearing at influencer events and generating digital content.
