On 13 May, World Fair Trade Day will be celebrated around the world, with companies across industries showing their support for equity and transparency in international trade.
While ‘fair trade’ is a phrase that most consumers are familiar with and many look out for when buying chocolate or coffee, today only roughly 150 beauty products in the UK carry the Fairtrade Mark by Fairtrade Foundation.
However, as consumers begin to take a greater interest in the sustainability practices of beauty companies and transparency in supply chains, this movement could find renewed support among this audience.
