Background
Vitamin C is known as a beauty ingredient that addresses various skin problems such as brightening, pores and acne. In recent years, as the growing trend of well-ageing and “Morning C, Evening A” routine have spread via social media and word of mouth, vitamin C-concentrated skincare products have become highly popular worldwide. However, developing such products is challenging because of vitamin C’s tendency for discolouration and odour change over time, as well as formulation instability. As a result, the amount of vitamin C often has to be limited, which can make it difficult to achieve sufficient skin benefits.
We believe that the key to maximising the benefits of high-concentration vitamin C is improving its stability, thus we developed iVC™ 3GA-green, a vitamin C derivative* combining stability, skin care benefits and sustained efficacy through our original patented technology. Because iVC™ 3GA-green has excellent stability, exhibits less discolouration over time and maintains a high residual rate (Figure 1), it is the most suitable ingredient for high-concentration vitamin C serums or cosmetics.
