French specialty chemicals distributor Safic-Alcan has joined the UN Global Compact initiative, the world’s largest voluntary corporate citizenship and sustainability initiative.
The initiative was created to encourage businesses to take responsibility and create change across a wide range of social and environmental issues, including human rights, labour, anti-corruption and environment protection.
Safic-Alcan stated: “Sustainability is not just a question of respecting regulations, it has been part of our identity, our corporate strategy and our culture for many years.
“It is and will remain an opportunity to use our creativity and innovation to be part of the solution, for our world today and for future generations.
“By joining the UN Global Compact, we are taking an important step to publicly commit to our values.”
