A new Bimodal Polymer platform from Interpolymer is said to provide quick-setting hold, high humidity resistance and excellent curl retention in hair styling products.
These polymers form flexible, easily removable, high gloss films that feel pleasantly crisp with no flaking or build-up. They are also ideal for water-based skin care products and fingernail enamels. This innovative technology combines two unique polymer chains, intertwined to achieve a balance between powerful hold, easy removability and film formation properties. Interpolymer says these polymers are compatible with virtually all cosmetic raw materials and can be added to sprayable/pumpable formulas at room temperatures in order to lower VOC levels. The Interpolymer bimodal platform - consisting of Syntran PC 5100, PC 5112, and EX-107 polymers - aims to allow formulators to attain new levels of quality and consistency.
A new selector guide is available free from Interpolymer. It aims to help formulators choose the right polymer or polymer group for their application. The eight-page book highlights Interpolymer’s comprehensive product line of patented Syntran and Megatran polymers while also providing an overview of the company’s philosophies, technologies, and capabilities.
