Procter & Gamble sales top $23.3 billion in strong Q1 2027

The Q1 2027 4% sales increase for Procter & Gamble (P&G), the owner of Olay and Herbal Essences, was driven by its beauty division, which benefited particularly from hair care demand

Procter & Gamble (P&G) has reported a 4% sales rise to US$23.3bn for its first quarter of trading in the 2027 financial year.

Organic sales, which exclude the impacts of foreign exchange and acquisitions and divestitures, also rose 4% versus the prior year.

The consumer goods giant’s beauty segment, which includes brands Olay and Herbal Essences, saw organic sales increase 5% versus 2026.

“Our solid sales, earnings and cash results in the first quarter reflect sharpened execution of our integrated strategy,” said Shailesh Jejurikar, Chairman of the Board, President and CEO.

P&G’s hair care division’s organic sales increased mid-single digits this quarter, driven by innovation-based pricing in North America and Latin America, favourable product mix and a rise in unit volume.

Organic sales in its personal care division, meanwhile, increased mid-single digits, driven by volume growth in Greater China and Europe and a favourable product mix.

For P&G’s grooming segment, organic sales increased 5% versus a year ago, driven by innovation-based pricing, primarily in the North America market.

Jejurikar added: “While we expect there will continue to be geopolitical and economic challenges, this strong start keeps us on track to deliver within our guidance ranges for organic sales growth, core EPS growth and free cash flow productivity for the fiscal year.

“We remain committed to our strategy to delight consumers with superior products at a superior value by putting the consumer first in everything we do.

“We are confident in the near term and excited about the future.”

Looking ahead, P&G has updated its guidance range for fiscal 2027 all-in sales growth to be in the range of 2% to 4% versus the prior year.

This reflects the company’s acquisition of supplement brand Thorne as of 1 October 2026.

P&G has also maintained its outlook for organic sales growth in the range of 1% to 3% versus the prior year.

P&G acquired ‘clean’ digestive health brand Wonderbelly for an undisclosed sum in January 2026.

The acquisition of Wonderbelly is said to have reinforced its “commitment to providing a diverse range of health solutions while addressing evolving consumer preferences”.
