A total of 525 companies from more than 20 countries and regions have rebooked for PCHi 2020, covering 80% of the available floor space for the 13th edition. Associations like Business France, Spanish Stanpa and others, as well as a total of 8 national pavilions (France, Germany, India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, and USA) will be featured prominently at PCHi 2020.
“Over the years, attendees have come to see the show as an ideal platform to gather new perspectives and spot the hottest industry trends,” said Peter LIU, PCHi Project Manager at RSE. “As the show grows from strength to strength, we are now amplifying efforts to best enable our exhibitors to make the right connections with attendees, and vice versa.”
Trendspotting to Catch the Next New Wave
Of those surveyed at PCHi 2019, most visitors chose to attend the event to not just fulfill their sourcing needs, but also to gain a better understanding of current market developments.
While exhibitors’ content most directly reflect consumer demands, RSE also includes show features that are trend-specific and relevant, providing all attendees with a more complete show experience. Even as preparations for PCHi 2020 have only just begun, the organizers are making every effort to ensure the next edition will be one that is not-to-be-missed.
An often-discussed trend changing China’s personal care industry is digitalization, and the phenomenon includes how today’s consumers are attracted to beauty tech (e.g. smart mirrors, VR, AR) in their experience with beauty brands, as well as how beauty influencers or key opinion leaders (KOLs) have risen to cult status.
Technology continues to change how every industry operates, and attendees can expect to see an even stronger connection with digitalization at PCHi next year.
Closely related to the rise of beauty KOLs is the growing pool of Skintellectuals in China - a new breed of discerning consumers that scrutinize labels and advocate clean beauty products. These consumers understand the purpose of specific functional ingredients, and may even take pride in how they have uncovered niche products suited to their individual skin types.
The market also sees a group of consumers favoring minimalization of their color cosmetics, preferring smaller packaging and simpler application methods. For PCHi 2020, RSE plans to engage visiting trade professionals on these developments and the related challenges.
