NuFace, a US skin care brand, has seen a 355% increase in monthly unit sales in Korea after it was named the region’s best selling brand by South Korean media company Dong-A ilbo.
The company awarded NuFace with the accolade of Korea’s Best Selling Brand Award in its annual evaluation of the country’s consumer brands in January, after taking into account product sales and consumer satisfaction. NuFace launched onto the Korean market in April 2015 and has fast gained popularity among consumers in the region.
Tera Valdez-Peterson, NuFace CEO and Co-Founder, said: “We’re honored to be the recipient of such an esteemed award. We’re thrilled with the response our brand has received in Korea to date, and are truly appreciative of consumers’ passion and excitement, especially in such a short amount of time. As other countries look to Korea for its innovation and cultural advancement, we’re excited about the potential this creates for the brand throughout Asia.”
Typically, the recipients of the Best Selling Brand Award are domestic; previous winners include LG, Hyundai and AmorePacific.
Korean consumers appeared to take an immediate shine to NuFace. The brand launched on the Hyundai Home Shopping Network last year and sold through 130% of its sales goal. The achievement made NuFace the best new vendor on a launch day for Hyundai in 15 years.
Nearby countries have also proved fruitful for the brand, especially Hong Kong. Today, NuFace is operational in more than 150 stores in 14 international markets including Italy, Mexico, Belgium, Luxembourg and Canada.
