German online clothing retailer Zalando is now selling cosmetics.
Currently, only consumers in Germany have access to the e-tailer’s beauty offerings, which include products from L’Oreal Paris, L:A Bruket and Weleda.
Zalando is also riding the Korean trend wave by stocking skin care brands Missha and It’s Skin.
“Beauty products naturally complement our current fashion assortment,” said Claudia Reth, VP Category Specialties at Zalando.
“We are excited to empower our customers to complete their look with the right beauty products by giving full style advice and offering exclusive beauty highlights and trends, all in one destination.”
The online retailer plans to expand into male grooming this autumn.
In June, Zalando is also opening a beauty pop-up in Berlin, Germany. The offline concept store will allow customers to try the products stocked online, as well as receive advice from beauty experts.
Zalando is the latest retailer to expand into beauty. Asos, boohoo Topshop, H&M, New Look, Primark and Missguided have also ramped up their beauty offerings with a number of new launches and marketing campaigns.
