Tom Ford Beauty has named Hong Kong-Taiwanese actress Shu Qi as its new ambassador.

Qi, née Lin Li-hui, will represent the Estée Lauder-owned beauty brand across the China and Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions.

Her partnership with Tom Ford Beauty debuted with a campaign prompting its Private Blend Cherry Collection.

“Introducing Shu Qi, the new Tom Ford Beauty Attaché,” the brand wrote on Instagram.

Qi has previously served as the ambassador of fashion brand Kenzo’s fragrance, Flower by Kenzo.

She has also represented a number of luxury fashion houses including Michael Kors, Bulgari and Emporio Armani.

“I am honoured to be the new attaché for Tom Ford Beauty, a brand that has redefined modern luxury for the 21st century,” said Qi in a statement.

“I look forward to this exciting partnership.”

Qi marks Tom Ford Beauty’s third hire for the APAC regions.

In 2022 Gong Yoo, the star of the hit Korean Netflix drama Squid Game, was appointed as Tom Ford Beauty’s ambassador.

He initially represented the brand's White Suede fragrance.

Prior to this, the beauty brand appointed South Korean actor Hyun to promote its Private Blend Soleil Brûlant EDP.

Tom Ford's make-up, fragrances and skin care lines have been licensed by Estée Lauder (ELC) since 2006.

In 2022 ELC fully acquired the Tom Ford fashion house for US$2.8bn, with the deal being marked as the beauty brand owner's biggest deal to date and its first step into fashion.

The acquisition includes Tom Ford's apparel, accessories and eyewear businesses.

ELC is said to have fought off competition from Alexander McQueen owner Kering to clinch the deal.
