The e-commerce site has become a central hub for western brands to reach China’s growing demand

Kanebo-owned cosmetics brand Suqqu has launched a new digital flagship on Chinese e-commerce site Tmall Global.

The extension marks a step up in the brand’s international expansion as it drives its retail presence in mainland China.

Suqqu first became available to Chinese consumers in 2017 via its social media network Weibo.

With the new partnership, around 150 skin care and make-up skus will be available to the market, including its hero Extra Rich Glow Cream Foundation, which is said to be popular with its Chinese customers.

Suqqu’s products are currently available in Thailand, the UK, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.

Demand for beauty products across China has boomed in the last 12 months and has spearheaded growth for a number of beauty giants, including L’Oréal and L’Occitane.

Meanwhile, Tmall’s site has become a central hub for western brands to reach the growing market.

According to parent company Alibaba Group, Tmall stocks more than 1,000 beauty brands on its site, including a number of luxury brands including Chanel, Givenchy and Giorgio Armani.
