Molton Brown is offering a new kind of personalised decoration service for its scented candles in the run-up to the festive season.
For six weeks from 20 October to 30 November at its store on London, UK’s Regent Street, the Kao-owned lifestyle brand is customising candles using its floating linear decoration processing technology.
It marks the first time this technique, developed by Kao and industrial automation company B&R (and first announced in 2022), has been implemented.
According to Japanese beauty giant Kao, floating linear decoration processing technology is able to detect subtle unevenness on each individual candle surface and control the height of the linear transport unit up and down.
This enables a constant height to be maintained from the surface of the candle, allowing for smooth and beautiful decorations.
A decoration processing machine from Japan has been installed at the Regent Street flagship, which is being used to decorate the brand’s Signature Candle and Luxury Candle.
Customers can choose to decorate the wax with festive designs, such as a ribbon, snowflake or holly, in crimson or gold, alongside their name or initials – and can actually see their candle being decorated in-store.
