Siltech launches Silube Sustain-S

10-Mar-2022

Consistent with a strong commitment to sustainability in cosmetics, Siltech will unveil a new sugar-modified silicone emulsifier at the MWSCC TEAMWORKS trade event on 22 March 2022

Silube Sustain-S is a novel glucose-modified aminoalkyl silicone in a 100% natural and fully biodegradable carrier.

Silube Sustain-S exhibits the premium performance benefits that consumers have come to love from specialty silicone emulsifiers, with the added feature of improved sustainability.

The reaction of glucose with an aminoalkyl functional silicone inserts both nutrality and functionality. RSPO MB grade vegetable derived isoamyl laurate serves not only as a carrier for the system, but also adds emolliency and further augments sustainability.

The INCI name is Gluconamido Lauryl Dimethicone (and) Isoamyl Laurate.

Silube Sustain-S is ideal for sustainable formulating and serves as an integral part of formulations featuring high biobased carbon content. The product is featured in our example formulation Sustainable Hydration Moisturising Cream.

This invert (Water-in- Oil) emulsion cream imparts ultra-hydration and features largely renewable ingredients.

Silube Sustain-S serves as the main emulsifier and additionally imparts a soft sensorial and smooth after-feel.

The entire formulation has a total verified (ASTM D6866) biobased carbon content greater than 90%. Enjoy pleasing sensorial and hydration with an added assurance of sustainability!
