Lancôme expands Custom Made Foundation service to the UK and Canada

For £90, consumers will be able to custom blend their own Le Teint Particulier Custom Made Foundation at Lancôme counters in Harrods and Nordstrom

Premium colour cosmetics and skin care brand Lancôme is rolling out its Le Teint Particulier Custom Made Foundation in the UK and Canada.

Consumers opting in to the £90 experience will begin by having their facial skin tone analysed by a Lancôme beauty advisor in-store.

Once the data has been processed, a foundation is blended at the counter and the consumer’s shade number is printed on the bottle for refill convenience.

The on-site machine is able to mix 72,000 different shades of foundation.

The service has just launched exclusively through upscale retailer Harrods in the UK, and will be made available in two Nordstrom stores in Canada by the end of this year.

US success

The bespoke foundation service was first launched in Nordstrom Del Amo Fashion Center and Nordstrom Downtown Seattle in November 2015.

It is now available at 11 Lancôme counters in the US, with five more set to roll out at other Lancôme points of sale this year.

Flawless formula

The formula itself is a new innovation for the L’Oréal-owned brand and is said to create a “translucent radiance and a smooth, truly flawless natural glow”.

With a weightless feel, the foundation features micro-fill technology and contains high-impact pigments that are designed to glide on easily and flatter all skin types, the brand says.

Shades can be blended to reflect cool, warm or neutral undertones.

The foundation joins the Lancôme family of Le Teint foundations, which includes Teint Miracle, Teint Idole Ultra and Teint Visionnaire.
