‘Emma Raducanu’ cosmetics trademark application withdrawn

The US Open tennis champion is at risk of losing rights to use her name or facing legal battles as unrelated applicants look to capitalise on her success

A UK application to register a trademark for cosmetics, clothing and stationery under US Open champion Emma Raducanu’s name has been withdrawn days after it was filed.

The application made by Anthony Brierley, from West Yorkshire, UK, was filed on 12 September, just days after Raducanu claimed victory at the Grand Slam event in New York.
