Coffee scrubs have taken off on social media with consumers keen to reap the claimed benefits of the caffeine-packed black grinds. But do they have real skin health pluses?

Grounds left behind after making a pot of fresh coffee are usually thrown in the bin. But in recent months, this grit has found new life as a beauty product. Fuelled by the Pinterest trend for DIY beauty, consumers are recycling coffee grinds as an exfoliator and cellulite treatment. Beauty brands have been quick to respond, with Instagram helping names such as Frank Body and Bean Body become online sensations.
