Ashland has announced that it will increase prices by up to 15%, or as contracts allow, effective 1 October.
The US specialty ingredients company said the move would help cover continued general inflation related to raw materials, energy, freight and labour.
The price increase includes all Ashland products across all markets and applications that the company serves, including life sciences, personal care, specialty additives and intermediates.
Ashland is far from the only supplier of cosmetic ingredients to elevate prices in the face of rising raw material, energy and transport costs.
BASF has been open about price increases for its Care Chemicals portfolio worldwide, while Clariant has also announced local price increases.
