Ever since Naomi Campbell first shared her eccentric in-flight routine to her a quarter of a million YouTube subscribers, but with 1.3 million hits and counting, consumers can’t seem to get enough of the supermodel’s very thorough cleansing and hydrating ritual.

In the five minute video the face of NARS’ Spring/Summer campaign is seen zipping around the airport ahead of her flight to Qatar, browsing duty free beauty products and taking a closer look at Chanel and Biotherm (the only cream she claims to use). So far, it all seems relatable, that is, until she boards her flight.

Once onboard the now viral ‘Come Fly With Me’ video shows the model donning latex gloves, a hygiene mask and Dettol anti-bacterial wipes to clean “anything you could possibly touch”, including the passenger seat in front.

When settled, Campbell reveals her “hydration pack” – which includes Johnson’s Makeup Be Gone face wipes – but she focuses on the trio of moisturising face masks that she will use in a single flight to nourish her skin.

The video has since sparked hundreds of headlines debating whether or not consumers should follow the 47-year-old’s advice.

But whether you think Campbell’s routine is intense, or wisdom from a frequent traveller, it has helped reignite conversation around the importance of curating travel-friendly products for all consumer quirks.
