Malin + Goetz has placed its UK business into administration following an “extensive” review of its operations and after “exhausting all viable alternatives”.
All of the US beauty brand’s UK stores have closed with immediate effect along with its head office, resulting in the loss of 72 jobs – just over half of which are full-time positions.
“Following an extensive review of the business and after exhausting all viable alternatives, we have taken the difficult but necessary decision to put our UK business into administration, resulting in the closure of all UK stores that we operate and our head office,” said a Malin+Goetz spokesperson in a statement to Cosmetics Business.
“We recognise the impact this will have on our colleagues and customers, and the loss of jobs is deeply regrettable, but unavoidable under the circumstances”It is understood that the business faced tough trading conditions, and despite efforts to improve performance, this was not enough
