Lush scraps Charity Pot giving scheme after 17 years

Lush is discontinuing its largest charitable giving stream this month after 17 years.

The British beauty retailer’s Charity Pot body lotion will be scrapped from shelves at the end of September as the business enters “a new era” of charitable giving.

Lush co-founder and CEO Mark Constantine formulated and launched Charity Pot in April 2007, with the aim to raise £1m for good causes.

Since then, 100% of Charity Pot sales – minus government taxes – have gone into Lush’s Charity Pot Fund.

These funds are then donated to small scale organisations and campaigners via grants in the areas of animal protection, human rights and the environment.
