PhytoCodine and SLM Eco Lipid Matrix are expected to be revealed at at in-cosmetics Global in Barcelona, Spain, later this year

Swiss cosmetics manufacturer Lipoid Kosmetik has expanded its skin care portfolio with two new plant-based applications for the skin care category.

The new PhytoCodine product is said to mimic the activity of matrikines, dermal messenger peptides, that naturally occur in the skin and instruct it to reorganise and build-up the extracellular mix, and support facial density and elasticity.

Lipoid Kosmetik isolated the natural matrikine-like peptides from cedar nuts.

Meanwhile, the new SLM Eco Lipid Matrix technology is designed to repair and restore the natural protective skin barrier.

The combination of essential skin lipids, including ceramides, triglycerides and phospholipids, mimics the lamellar structure of the extracellular matrix and forms a protective layer.

According to Lipoid Kosmetik, SLM Eco is ideally suited to luxury skin care and products for damaged, and sensitive skin.

The formula is produced with hydrogenated phosphatidylcholine from sunflower seeds.

Lipoid Kosmetik will reveal the products at in-cosmetics Global in Barcelona, Spain, later this year.
