New from Provital is Keratrix, a natural, multifunctional active for damaged hair. Biofunctional peptides and amino acids from the carob tree (Ceratonia siliqu L) – rich in glutamic, argenine and aspartic acids – are incorporated into Provital’s positively charged Matrix Plus technology, a three dimensional network that allows the controlled release of actives and which forms a protective film around the hair.
In a study comparing untreated hair and bleached hair with hair treated using 5% Keratrix and a placebo, the sample of treated bleached hair was found to be even more resistant to breakage than the untreated sample.
The active is claimed to be suitable for use in all hair applications including daily use, styling, repairing and strengthening products.
