Manufacturing and engineering executive John Dwyer was recently appointed director, global operations, by Hallstar Beauty. The specialty chemical company, headquartered in Darien, Illinois, operates production facilities in China, France, Italy and Brazil as well as the U.S.
Dwyer’s responsibilities will include leadership of strategic sourcing, materials planning, logistics, production, warehousing, and customer service teams. “Hallstar has a solutions-oriented culture,” observes divisional president Germano Coelho, “and we are known for our sustainable ingredients, dedicated customer and technical services, and reliable global supply chains. With the world’s current transportation struggles, distinctions like supplier dependability, efficiency and innovation become even more critical to customers. We are fortunate to have someone like John in this global role to further develop a cohesive, high performing team focused on our customers’ success.”
Dwyer comes to Hallstar Beauty from Daubert Chemical where he served as director of manufacturing operations and engineering. Before Daubert, he worked as a management consultant at Accenture, developing strategic solutions for chemical and energy clients like Halliburton, Exxon Mobil and Univar. His education includes a BS in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School. He lives in the Chicago suburbs with his wife and two young children.
Dwyer feels fortunate to be joining Hallstar Beauty’s leadership. “This new role gives me an opportunity to focus on the end-to-end supply chain at a thriving, global company. Because Hallstar Beauty continues to innovate for its customers, there are operational challenges in my future that I can’t even predict right now. But I do know that I’m passionate about chemistry and customer service, as well as about building relationships with talented, curious coworkers in an ethical and respectful professional environment. That’s why I know Hallstar is a great place for me to be.”
