Jo Malone London has joined the Global Coalition for Youth Mental Well-being, hosted by children’s charity UNICEF.
The British fragrance brand will work alongside Spotify and Zurich Insurance Group as a Strategic Member of the initiative.
The Coalition first launched in April 2022, with the support of Z Zurich Foundation, and was founded to highlight the global shortage of funding and action on mental health.
It aims to call for public and private sector companies to join the global movement to direct funds towards mental health promotion and prevention.
“For the past ten years, Jo Malone London has been committed to supporting mental health through raising awareness, providing support, and helping to reduce stigma,” said Jo Dancey, Global General Manager at Jo Malone London.
“Through this Coalition, we will leverage our collective voices to further stamp out stigma and provide support for children, adolescents, and caregivers globally.”
Jo Malone London said it has committed itself to supporting mental health throughout the past decade.
On World Mental Health Day 2022, the Estee Lauder Companies-owned brand launched the Shining A Light On Mental Health Foundation.
This included a pledge to donate US$2m globally between Monday 10 October 2022 and Monday 9 October 2023.
UNICEF received a $1m donation, with a further $1m to be divided across local charities through the Charity Candle collection.
“Children and young people are our future, and we should be doing everything we can to invest in the support they need,” added Carla Haddad Mardini, Director of UNICEF’s Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division in Geneva.
“Failure to do so leaves them vulnerable to greater distress and at risk of missing out on life chances, limiting their future potential.”
